Plant is a 2009 drama brickfilm directed by Jordan Harris and animated by Dustin Finstrom and Jordan Harris.[1] It is about what might happen if plants could take revenge against humans for polluting the earth.[2]

Plot

With humans covering land with buildings and polluting the air with vehicles and power stations, plants on earth are dying out. It is imagined what would happen if the plants could fight back, and roots shoot up from the ground and out from building walls to attack humans. The plant then roots itself across a very wide and grows into space to sprout a giant flower.

A man wakes up in the plant-covered world, and becomes happy when he sees his new surroundings. However, the film reverts back to real life and he is once again surrounded by buildings. As the man walks away, a plant creeps towards him on the wall behind him.[2]

Awards

Plant was created in one month for the 'Fresh Start' competition held on the filmmaking website filmaka.com. It was voted as one of ten winners of the competition and was to be awarded $1500, but the website could not grant prize money to a film with crew members under 18 years of age. This meant that the film could not receive its prize as director Jordan Harris was only 14 at the time, and the only person over 18 who worked on the film was Philip Heinrich.[3]

Later, the film was nominated for two awards in the 2009 Bricks in Motion Awards.[4]
