The End of Sports is a 2012 comedy brickfilm by Dave Pickett. It follows Robert Vylan's first report as sportscaster, in which he tries to remove and replace all existing sports.[1] It is the fifth part of Nightly News at Nine Chapter 2 - Robots!.[2]
Plot[]
The Nightly News at Nine's new sportscaster, Robert Vylan, begins his inaugural report. He questions why sports exist, and covers popular theories as to their origin in Figuria. He proclaims, however, that after one day of extensive research, he has deduced that sports were invented to foil the plans of evildoers. To prove his point, he plays footage of villains having their plans foiled by sports.
Vylan's ranting is interrupted by an address from the Toymaster General of Figuria, who informs the audience that following the invasion of Figuria by Pinchbots, tomorrow the toy stores will be stocking highly desirable Mini-Pinchbots toys. Vylan's rant concludes, and he claims that as the newly-appointed "Sportsmaster", he nullifies all existing sports. He has invented his own more useful replacements, starting with "Breakdown", in which players take down a building or other large object as quickly as possible.
Sherry enters and tells Vylan that he does not have the authority to nullify sports, as he is merely a sportscaster. She returns to her desk, only to find Phil has deconstructed it, as he is enjoying a game of Breakdown.[1]
