The day after release, LEGO Black Ops was shared in an article on Kotaku.com. It was then picked up by many more outlets, including The Guardian, , TechCrunch, and Game Rant. The film gained views very fast, and for a period of time it was one of the brickfilms with the highest number of views on YouTube. It was also on the shortlist for the cancelled 2010 Bricks in Motion Awards.
