HEADLOOSE is a 2018 comedy brickfilm by Ben Young.[1][2] It follows a man who discovers that he can continue living after being decapitated, which influences a "bodyless" craze.[3] It was created for the Brickfilm Rapidly All Week Long Contest 2018, in which it won first place.
Plot[]
It is the day that Harry Irving is due to be publicly executed. The sheriff hangs him, which takes Harry's head off and sends it flying. When the sheriff goes to retrieve the head, it starts to move, and Harry explains that he thinks he just felt like he wasn't going to die. The bodyless Harry promptly falls into an open manhole.
In a bar, a man flushes a toilet, and Harry is dredged up through it. The man is fascinated by the bodyless Harry, and gets him a drink. They discuss how Harry ended up this way, and the man decides to go discard his own body. When he announces to the bar that you can pop your head off, the patrons are enthused and begin to try it for themselves.
Harry wakes up in his home. He watches a news report detailing how the bodyless craze is quickly spreading, with interviews on how being bodyless has improved peoples' lives. The man Harry met in the bar arrives at his door, requesting that Harry become the focal point for his new "organization". The entourage with the man kidnap Harry, and they take him to a meeting of the Cult of the Less-Headed. The cult tie up Harry, and begin to worship him as a prophet. They have decided that bodylessness is the next step in the evolution of man, and bring in a captive to be the first to force their will upon. They forcibly remove the head of this man, which manages to actually kill him. The cult's chef enters to announce that barbecue is ready, and the cult immediately abandon their failed project in favor of tasty brisket. Harry breaks free, and also partakes in brisket.[3]
