LEGO: The Hobbit is a series of brickfilms directed by Forrest Whaley; written by Mason Howerton, Forrest Whaley and Sean Willets; and animated by Sean Willets and Forrest Whaley. It comprises four films that are each told from the perspective of a different character from The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings universe. The series was commissioned as part of the paid promotion for the video game LEGO The Hobbit.[1] Though the films are not directly based on this game specifically, they are presented as if they are footage from a video game, featuring a first-person perspective, a heads-up display, and menus. The four installments were released roughly weekly between May and June 2014.
