Stopmotion-Sonntag ("Stop-Motion Sunday"), usually stylized as #StopmotionSonntag, is a weekly feature on Brickboard started by Hendrik Denkhaus in May 2017. Every Sunday, a brickfilm is featured on the site, and the goal is to depict the diversity of brickfilms by featuring films of all styles and from all eras.

History

The first entry to Stopmotion-Sonntag was posted on May 7, 2017 by Hendrik Denkhaus. It was launched to provide regular content to the front page blog of BrickBoard, and to show interesting films to irregular visitors as well as site regulars. Denkhaus was responsible for the first batch of posts until the fourteenth entry in September.

Stopmotion-Sonntag fell into a hiatus for three months until it was picked up by Dirk Boettcher in December 2017. Boettcher posted a new entry almost every week, often basing the choice of film off (international) holidays like Mother's Day, National Pastry Day, Christmas and World Coconut Day and National Pastry Day. He continued writing for Stopmotion-Sonntag throughout 2018 and into January of the following year.

In February 2019, Sebastian Geiß-Polnau took over as main writer. A few months later, two other members of Brickboard also started contributing to the blog: Hans "AoW-Gamer" Präßler in July, and Seza Tiara Selen in September (although she had guest written a feature earlier in the year).

As of August 2021, Stopmotion-Sonntag still publishes weekly, with different contributors taking turns each week. Some articles are written by guest contributors like Oliver Berger and "Gammast".
