Brickboard is a German brickfilming community website. It was founded in March 2004 by Felix C. and Cornelius Koch who met on Brickfilms.com. In March 2013, Koch announced that he was to step down from his position, and was looking for a new administrator. In September 2014, Mirko Horstmann took over as administrator for the website.

The Brickboard forums have the home for discussion about Steinerei since its inception in 2005. Brickboard has also been the site of Stopmotion-Sonntag, a weekly brickfilm feature blog started in 2017.

History[]

Brickboard was founded on the 10th of March 2004 by Felix C. and Cornelius Koch who met on Brickfilms.com. In March 2013, Koch announced that he was to step down from his position, and was looking for a new administrator.[1] In September 2014, Mirko Horstmann officially took over as administrator for the website.[2]

The original header for Brickboard, used until the site redesign in 2015.

In 2015, the website got an overhaul. The forums were kept, but Brickboard now featured a blog where news about events and articles featuring brickfilms could be read.[citation needed]

In May 2017, Hendrik Denkhaus started Stopmotion-Sonntag ("Stop Motion Sunday"), a blog series that would feature a different brickfilm every week. In September of that year, Dirk Boettcher took over writing duties for the blog series. As of August 2021, Stopmotion-Sonntag still publishes almost weekly, with several members of the Brickboard community contributing articles.

In mid-2021, several Brickboard members worked together to create Aktion "Bunt", a brickfilm in celebration of LGBT Pride Month and the LEGO Everyone Is Awesome set.
