Arend Hintze is a German brickfilmer. He is known for Divine Interventions II, Janithor, and for his many entries into the Twenty-four Hour Animation Contest, including THACOSIS. He has one of the highest numbers of THAC entries, at 10 (Zach Macias has 12 successful entries, and Max Butcher and Ethan Olson each have 11).
In 2008, at the end of the Brickfilms.com 2.0 era, Arend Hintze served as community admin of Brickfilms.com. His involvement began when after the new owners were angering the community and had ejected site admin Jonathan Schlaepfer over his development of Bricks in Motion, Hintze offered to purchase Brickfilms.com. His offer was not accepted, but the discussions led to Hintze being instated as "community admin" of the site. This meant that he would act as a liaison between the community and the new owners, in a bid to ease tensions and improve discussions between them. He also finished the hosting of the Friendships and Rivalries Contest after the previous Ministers of Film Contests had stepped down, and he was involved with hosting the Brickfilms Challenge Series. The damage, however, had already been done, and the community continued to leave for Bricks in Motion. Hintze continued posting on Brickfilms until March 2009, after which his involvement with brickfilming reduced mostly just to entering the annual Twenty-four Hour Animation Contest on Bricks in Motion.
